Volunteering is acknowledged as a great way for job seekers to improve their employability. However during the COVID 19 pandemic many normal voluntary services have been suspended.
Remaining opportunities, and those specifically created as part of the COVID response in the NHS and community, have also been swamped with offers from people who want to help. This is fantastic, though means the supply of potential volunteers
greatly exceeds current opportunities. Those seeking voluntary positions to improve their employability are therefore unlikely to find a suitable opportunity until things return to “normal”
